“Gail of the Mountains” Sculpture Series
“ Gail speaks”
At the edge of the Bow Valley, the trees grow slightly askew, pants and bushes are low and flat to the ground, and there is a strong, fierce breeze. This unassuming section of land is deceivingly rugged, at time borderline uninhabitable and its here where you gain a respect for the elements of mountain life.
“Loader Peak”
Loader peak is where a section of road cuts through the stone and terrain along highway no.1. The blind corner brings you down and around towards the Bow River and for the first time you can see clearly the valley ahead.
“Descent”
Elevation is gained and lost as you crawl along the mountain sides of Kananaskis, Kootneay & Banff National Park. The valleys tighten and expand around each bend, the evergreens, larches and birch trees dot the landscape, along side crystal clear, glacial fed streams. This feels like a rare moment where you still remain untouched by modern day life.
